Bend Specific Information

This is a 1.5D Long Bend with Legs, manufactured to BS 4825 Part 2.

The bend has a 1.5D centre line radius, meaning the radius is equal to 1.5 x the tube diameter. It is supplied with straight leg extensions on each end.

On our website, Long Bend means the bend is supplied with legs.

A leg is the straight section of tube at either end of the bend. Legs provide extra length for cutting, welding, orbital welding, clamping or fitting into the pipework system.

Centre Line Radius, sometimes shown as CLR, is the radius measured from the centre point of the bend to the centre line of the tube.

Centre Face, sometimes shown as CF, is the distance from the centre point of the bend to the end face of the fitting. On bends with legs, this includes the straight leg length.

The radius may also be written as 1 x D or 1.5 x D. The D refers to the tube diameter, so a 1D bend has a centre line radius equal to 1 x the tube diameter, while a 1.5D bend has a centre line radius equal to 1.5 x the tube diameter.

Some customers and suppliers may also refer to bends as elbows. On our website, we use bend as the standard term for consistency.
